The type of anesthesia used for office-based liposuction. The anesthetic fluid is usually a combination of normal saline to which is added lidocaine, epinephrine and sodium bicarbonate. The common name for this solution is Klein’s Solution, after Dr. Jeffrey Klein, who was the first to describe the effectiveness of this solution for anesthetic purposes back in the early 1980′s.
